Will the pen blow over in the wind?
Our pens are self-supporting and designed to withstand most weather conditions. When constructed correctly, the wind will not blow over the pens.
Will my horse push the pen over if it scratches its bum on the rails?
It is extremely unlikely that your horse will push over the pen if it is fixed together as instructed. To date, we have not encountered any incidents of horses pushing over our pens.
How do the panels fit together?
The panels fit together using a simple but strong pin system, securing both the top and bottom. This design allows for easy assembly at varying angles, eliminating the frustration of aligning connectors simultaneously.
Does the pen have to be round?
No, our panels can fit together at varying angles, including 90 degrees, allowing you to create an arena, a square or other shapes if needed. This flexibility ensures the pen meets your specific requirements.
Will my horse be able to get out through the rails?
Our pens are customisable to your needs, with options for 4, 5, or 6 rails depending on the panel height. We prioritise horse safety and will help you choose the right configuration to ensure your horse's security.
Do the panels have to be concreted in?
No, the panels do not need to be concreted in. They are self-supporting and can stand on various surfaces, including grass, arena surfaces, hard standing, and more. However, concreting is an option if you prefer additional stability.
Does the pen have to be on a flat surface?
No, our pen connectors allow for some flexibility on uneven ground, making it possible to set up the pen on a variety of terrains.
How durable are the pens?
Our pens are made in Shropshire from hot dipped, fully galvanised box or tube steel, ensuring durability and resistance to rust and wear. This construction guarantees long-term use even under harsh weather conditions.
Can the pens be customised?
Yes, we offer bespoke options to meet your specific requirements. Whether you need different sizes, heights, or configurations, we can create a pen that perfectly fits your needs.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery times can vary based on your location and the specific pen ordered. Generally, we aim to deliver within 2-3 weeks from the date of order. For more precise delivery times, please contact us directly.
What is the process for hiring a pen?
To hire a pen, simply contact us by phone or email to discuss your needs and check availability. Our hire service starts at £200 per month, with no minimum hire period. A refundable £250 deposit is required upon booking. Delivery & collection are free for the first 50 miles, with a £1 per mile charge thereafter.
Can I collect and return the hire pen myself?
Yes, you have the option to collect and return the pen yourself if that is more convenient. Please let us know your preference when arranging the hire.
What surfaces can my round pen go on?
The round pen will self support on most surfaces including grass, sand and chippings. The panels do not need to be concreted in although this is an option if you want a permanent structure (don’t forget to check with your local planning office first). We can provide modified panels if you want to use them in your arena, so the legs don’t come into contact with the membrane. And we also offer lunge pens with base plates for bolting down.
How do I know which pen is right for me?
Just ask us. We have over 30 years experience with horses varying from small ponies to traditional cobs and warmbloods. You are not alone in needing help with making decisions about your horses best interests, we’ve all needed it from time to time.
How do I buy a round pen?
The process is really simple, just call or email with the questions you have, if you don't know what you need, we will try our best to suggest some options. If you could have an idea of what you would be doing in the pen, the size of the area where it will go and if it needs to be moved regularly.
We look forward to hearing from you, our aim is to help.
How do the panels fit together?
Our panels fit closely together with steel pins top and bottom. The pins have a hook at one end, make sure this is pointing outwards from the pen to avoid any potential accidents. We supply replacement pins FOC.
Can I get additional panels or gates?
Absolutely.
Our panels are standard size and have compatible connectors, irrespective of the design (some bespoke designs may be exceptions).
We can also provide extra panels, even if you didn't buy the pen from us! Just get in touch to discuss what you need and provide a picture and sizes.
Just let us know how many you need and we will do the rest. A delivery fee may apply.
Can I see a round pen before I buy?
We have some panels available to view at our yard, but we have customers across the country and could possibly link you up to view their pen. Who doesn't like talking about their horses and what they do!
Alternatively, we exhibit at The Horsemanship Showcase and the British Liberty Show as well as other events through the country. Details of where we are are posted on our Facebook page.
